Twenty robotics teams from across the country, including the Inotek Robotics Team, took part in the second edition of the “RoboRangers Cup Last Call” competition — an event where robots, strategy, and creativity were truly put to the test.
Participants designed, built, and programmed robots capable of completing complex tasks in an intense competition format. Four teams advanced to the finals and received vouchers worth between 7,000 and 15,000 lei.
The atmosphere in the hall was highly competitive, filled with эмоtions, last-minute adjustments, and repeated testing of mechanisms.
Denis Dragnea, representative of the Inotek Robotics Team, said that the building process was not without challenges.
“The robot we built was inspired by several robots we saw online and here in Moldova. According to the rules, it can pick up three balls and launch them. The average success rate for shots is over 50 percent, and I’m very proud that we managed to reach this level,” said Denis Dragnea.
Meanwhile, Sergiu Alcaz, representative of the team from Ungheni, competed with a robot built from wood. The next step is to develop a metal version and qualify for international competitions.
“I’ve been involved in robotics for almost two years. Our goal is to go as far as possible and reach the world championship this year. This robot was built together with my team. We started with a simple iteration to better understand how the game works,” mentioned Sergiu Alcaz.
Organizers state that the event was designed as a training stage for the teams.
“We offer teams that want to further develop their robots the opportunity to test their mechanisms, programs, and autonomous functions during unofficial events. This is an unofficial competition — it is not included in the official list — but we come together, have fun, and gain valuable experience,” explained organizer Florin Cazac.
The competition was organized to prepare teams for participation in the FIRST Tech Challenge, one of the most prestigious international robotics competitions for students, scheduled for February 21–22.
