PROJECT INFORMATION:

In July 2024, the INOTEK Foundation signed a grant agreement with the Embassy of Sweden for the implementation of the Inotek4Cahul project. The overall objective of the project is to enhance digital skills, support local businesses, and promote an innovation ecosystem in the southern region of Moldova.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:

  • Encourage partnerships for innovation and entrepreneurship between the private sector, public sector, and educational institutions in the Cahul region.

  • Promote technologies, problem-solving, and creative solutions in education and increase the attractiveness of STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) for women and men, girls and boys.

  • Support the emergence of new businesses in innovative sectors and strengthen their capacity and readiness for investment.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The engagement may involve either hiring an accountant or contracting the services of a legal entity. The selected individual or company will be responsible for all financial and accounting functions in accordance with the National Accounting Standards, tax legislation, and labor laws in force.

SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recording and processing accounting documents (invoices, receipts, payment orders, bank statements, etc.);

  • Monitoring and tracking income and expenses;

  • Conducting periodic inventory of assets and liabilities;

  • Preparing tax returns, social contributions, and other declarations;

  • Ensuring compliance with current fiscal legislation;

  • Calculating salaries, contributions, and preparing payroll sheets;

  • Archiving and completing personnel files and time sheets;

  • Contributing to the preparation of annual financial statements (balance sheet, profit and loss account, explanatory notes);

  • Applying tax regulations;

  • Preparing documentation for fiscal inspections and external audits;

  • Participating in the development of accounting policies;

  • Electronic archiving of accounting documentation and contracts.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications for individuals:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance;

  • Proven work experience in accounting for at least 3 years;

  • Proven experience in financial operations of NGOs for at least 3 years;

  • Experience managing international funds and donor-funded projects (is an advantage);

  • Experience using 1C accounting software and other relevant programs;

  • Ability to provide accounting and tax support and consultancy in accordance with the organization's needs;

  • Fluency in Romanian and/or Russian, and ability to provide support in English;

  • Proactive attitude, professionalism, and respect for deadlines related to reports and documentation.

Minimum qualifications for legal entities:

  • Team members must have a minimum of 3 years of proven experience in accounting;

  • Team members must have a minimum of 3 years of proven experience in accounting and financial management of NGOs;

  • Experience managing international funds and donor-funded projects (is an advantage);

  • Knowledge and application of National Accounting Standards, tax legislation, and labor laws in the Republic of Moldova;

  • Qualified staff with higher education in accounting, finance, or economics;

  • Experience using 1C accounting software and other relevant tools;

  • Ability to provide accounting and tax support and consultancy in line with the organization’s needs;

  • Staff fluency in Romanian and/or Russian, and ability to provide support in English;

  • Proactive attitude, professionalism, and ability to meet deadlines for reports and documentation.
