Educational Program Manager/STEM

PROJECT INFORMATION:

In July 2024, the Inotek Foundation signed a grant agreement with the Embassy of Sweden to implement the Inotek4Cahul project. The general objective of the Project is to improve digital skills, support local businesses and promote an innovation ecosystem in the southern region of Moldova. The specific objectives aim to enhance the growth of the IT industry, enable access to STEM education and support entrepreneurs. The overall goal of the action is to harness and strengthen the potential of the digital economy and to increase regional competitiveness, businesses and its investment environment.

 

SPECIFIC PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

  • Encouraging partnerships for innovation and entrepreneurship between the private sector, the public sector and educational institutions in the Cahul region.
  • Promoting technologies, problem-solving and creative solutions in education and increasing the attractiveness of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects for women and men, girls and boys.
  • Facilitating the emergence of new enterprises in innovative sectors; to develop their capacity and readiness for investment.

 

KEY FUNCTIONS:

The Educational Programs/STEM Manager will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the educational activities within the Inotek4Cahul project.

 

SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing and implementing activities aimed at developing IT education in Moldova (southern region: Cahul, Cantemir, Leova and Taraclia), including but not limited to educational programs, activities, practical work projects in accordance with the scope of the project and market needs;
  • Developing relevant work areas and terms of reference, creating relationships with consultants, experts, implementing partners and volunteers;
  • Managing and monitoring the implementation of planned, scheduled and approved programs;
  • Ensuring effective coordination and communication with relevant local authorities, stakeholders and beneficiaries, to integrate educational programs into the official curriculum;
  • Coordinating with other team members to ensure adequate, professional and efficient communication, executed in accordance with the project and donors' guidelines, thus meeting the project's needs for continuous knowledge and information exchange.

Reporting: The Educational Programs/STEM Manager will report to the Administrator and Deputy Project Director. Teamwork is a very important element for the success of the project and the Educational Programs/STEM Manager will organize and coordinate work with other employees as per the instructions of the Administrator and Deputy Project Director.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Education: A university degree in IT or management is an advantage; Experience: minimum 2 years of relevant similar experience, development or involvement in implementing educational programs; Language skills: excellent oral and written communication skills. Fluent (reading, writing and speaking) in Romanian and a basic/good level of English. Knowledge of Russian is an advantage; PC skills: Microsoft Office competencies (Excel, Word and Outlook). Others:

  • Knowledge of the educational structure in Moldova;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Effective capacity to work with different types of communities, diverse norms and modes of communication.

 

WORK LOCATION:

The Educational Programs/STEM Manager will perform their duties in Cahul, Republic of Moldova.
