Accountant

PROJECT INFORMATION:
In July 2024, the Inotek Foundation signed a grant agreement with the Embassy of Sweden to implement the Inotek4Cahul project. The overall objective of the Project is to improve digital skills, support local businesses, and promote an innovation ecosystem in the southern region of Moldova. Specific objectives aim to increase the growth of the IT industry, provide access to STEM education, and support entrepreneurs. The overall objective of the action is to leverage and strengthen the potential of the digital economy and enhance regional competitiveness, businesses, and its investment environment.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:
- Encouraging partnerships for innovation and entrepreneurship between the private sector, the public sector and educational institutions in the Cahul region.
- Promoting technologies, problem-solving and creative solutions in education and increasing the attractiveness of STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) for women and men, girls and boys.
- Facilitating the emergence of new enterprises in innovative sectors; developing their capacity and readiness for investments.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
The accountant will be responsible for maintaining accounting records and financial expenses within the Inotek Foundation.
SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Ensuring the accounting of the Foundation's financial expenses:
- Register payments in MDL according to the bank statement;
- Handle cash payments according to the cash register; b) Prepare financial-accounting reports and verify their correlation:
b) Daily operation of the Foundation's financial-banking transactions;
- Prepare financial reports for donors/partners;
- Continuously improve professional and specialized training;
- Maintain the confidentiality of information and documents related to the Foundation.
REPORTING:
The accountant will report to the Administrator.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Education: University degree in economics, finance and banking or law;
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant similar experience, working in non-profit organizations;
- Language skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Fluent (reading, writing, and conversation) in Romanian and a basic/good level of English. Knowledge of Russian is an advantage;
- PC skills: Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Others: Knowledge of 1C program; organizational and planning aptitude; efficient ability to work with different types of communities, diverse norms, and modes of communication.
WORK LOCATION:
The accountant will perform their duties in Cahul, Republic of Moldova.
