Communications Officer

PROJECT INFORMATION:
In July 2024, the INOTEK Foundation signed a grant agreement with the Embassy of Sweden for the implementation of the Inotek4Cahul project. The overall objective of the project is to enhance digital skills, support local businesses, and promote an innovation ecosystem in the southern region of Moldova.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:

Encourage partnerships for innovation and entrepreneurship between the private sector, public sector, and educational institutions in the Cahul region.

Promote technologies, problem-solving, and creative solutions in education and increase the attractiveness of STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) for women and men, girls and boys.

Facilitate the emergence of new enterprises in innovative sectors and strengthen their capacity and readiness for investment.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop the organization’s Communication Strategy and Communication Plan.

Contribute to the design and implementation of thematic campaign concepts for each program in line with the organization’s strategic plan.

Draft press releases, prepare written/video articles, and publish them on the organization’s website and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), using all available digital tools.

Coordinate deliverables with the graphic designer (content and visuals for social media and print materials).

Collaborate with program managers to align communication plans with activities, goals, and concepts, and provide communication insights and solutions.

Actively participate in organizing local, regional, and national events, ensuring visibility of project activities (photos, PR materials, visibility items, etc.); write communication materials to promote the organization’s mission (brochures, flyers, etc.).

Contribute to the conceptualization and development of communication materials for the organization.

Establish and maintain relationships with press officers/communication professionals from governmental and non-governmental institutions, at both national and international levels.

Maintain and update a directory of national and international media representatives, influencers/bloggers, and relevant media resources; facilitate communication between them and the organization.

Monitor media coverage, audience reach, and impact.

Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports on media trends and coverage received, as requested.

Monitor internal and external communication feedback (including online), identify key issues, and provide guidance on appropriate responses.

Represent the organization at various public activities/events.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

A completed university degree in relevant fields;

Experience in promoting the activities of a non-governmental organization and/or in communications and media;

Skills in media content creation: photography, videography, content editing, and video montage;

Experience with design and visual content tools such as Canva, CapCut, Figma, or Adobe programs (InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom, Photoshop) is considered an asset;

Excellent knowledge of Romanian, Russian, and English;

Proficiency in computer use (MS Office, Outlook, Internet), office equipment (copier/scanner/fax), and multimedia tools (photo/video);

Dedication to the organization and its values;

Responsibility, integrity, teamwork skills, flexibility, and punctuality;

Ability to work under pressure.
WORK LOCATION:
The Communications Officer will carry out their duties in Cahul Municipality, Republic of Moldova.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Full-time position, 5 days per week, 8 hours/day, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
