Moldova’s IT sector is developing at a rapid pace. Today, it brings together approximately 3,300 companies, provides more than 32,000 jobs, and creates a growing number of opportunities for young people with technology-related skills. As the industry expands, so does the demand for specialists in programming, artificial intelligence, and digital product development. To ensure that students can benefit from these opportunities, digital skills development must begin at school, with teachers who are prepared to guide them.
This summer, through the “Tekwill in Every School” programme, 1,327 teachers from across the country are undertaking training in fields relevant to the digital economy. The knowledge and tools they acquire will help them create modern learning experiences and prepare students for the jobs of the future.
Implemented by the National Association of ICT Companies (ATIC) under the Tekwill umbrella, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, the programme contributes to modernising education by training teachers and integrating digital skills into the educational process. The training programme is supported as part of the “Inotek4Cahul” project, implemented by INOTEK and funded by the Government of Sweden.
“Transforming education begins in the classroom, with teachers who choose to continuously update their skills and teaching methods. The participation of 1,327 teachers in this year’s edition demonstrates a genuine interest in integrating technology into education and preparing students for a constantly changing economic and social environment. Every teacher who completes the training expands generations of students’ access to skills that are relevant to the future,” says Ana Chirița, Director of Strategic Projects at ATIC.

A partnership that expands learning opportunities
In this edition, the “Tekwill in Every School” teacher training programme is being delivered in partnership with Învăț.Online, the platform through which teachers access the lessons and educational resources they need to develop their skills.
The partnership provides teachers with access to a flexible learning pathway, allowing them to study at their own pace, engage with course materials, and acquire the tools needed to integrate digital technologies into the educational process.
Through the Învăț.Online platform, students and parents can also access verified teachers for online lessons and tutoring, interactive tests, and tools for monitoring academic progress. An ecosystem transforming digital education
“Tekwill in Every School” functions as an integrated educational ecosystem in which teachers’ professional development represents the first step in preparing students for the jobs of the future. After completing the training, teachers bring the knowledge, methods, and tools they have acquired into the classroom, giving students access to up-to-date subjects and learning experiences connected to technological developments and labour market requirements.
The learning journey continues beyond the classroom. Students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in practice by participating in local, national, and international competitions within the Tekwill ecosystem. These include the “Tekwill Junior Ambassadors” competition, the National Artificial Intelligence Olympiad, competitions dedicated to developing mobile applications and digital solutions, as well as the e-ICON World Contest in South Korea.
Students from the Republic of Moldova also participate in the Intel AI Global Impact Festival, where they develop artificial intelligence-based solutions to real challenges facing their communities and compete alongside young people from around the world.
Through this integrated model—from teacher training and the introduction of subjects in schools to students’ participation in international competitions and programmes—“Tekwill in Every School” contributes to developing a generation capable of using technology to create, innovate, and solve real-world problems.
About “Tekwill in Every School”
“Tekwill in Every School” is the largest educational project in the Republic of Moldova dedicated to developing digital skills and preparing students for the jobs of the future. The programme has connected 596 educational institutions and involved more than 120,898 students and 6,700 teachers. Courses are available in Romanian and Russian on the https://tekwill.online platform, providing teachers and students across the country with access to modern educational resources.
Between 2022 and 2026, the training programme recorded a cumulative total of 5,776 teacher participations, including 1,327 in the 2026 edition. The “Tekwill in Every School” project is implemented by the National Association of ICT Companies under the Tekwill umbrella and in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova.
