The EU Digital Ambassadors Initiative aims to recruit 15 dynamic and motivated young people from the Cahul district, who will play a crucial role in promoting civic activism and participation in the upcoming referendum on Moldova's integration into the European Union, leveraging the power of storytelling and social media to reach a wider audience.

The main goal is to identify and select 15 young people passionate about civic engagement and skilled in digital communication. The recruitment process will take place through an open call, encouraging applications from a diverse group of candidates from the Cahul district.

Selection Criteria:

  • Young people aged 18 to 35
  • Demonstrated interest in community involvement
  • Communication and storytelling skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team

Before the campaign begins, the selected ambassadors will participate in an informational training session on the concept of the referendum (September 7, 2024). The ambassadors will receive detailed information about the EU, its values, the benefits, and the significance of Moldova's potential integration. They will also learn about the referendum process, its importance, and how to communicate this to their peers.

An additional meeting will be held on September 13 to explain the tasks in more detail, including storytelling methods, social media strategies, ethical guidelines, etc. During the campaign, the ambassadors will receive additional capacity-building support from the organizing team, including regular check-ins, feedback sessions, and access to resources and materials.

Campaign period: September 23-29, 2024

During this week-long campaign, the EU Digital Ambassadors will promote civic activism and participation in the upcoming referendum through various digital platforms.

By empowering young people to engage in civic activities and leveraging the power of social media, the EU Digital Ambassadors Initiative aims to promote the European integration process and broadly inform the community in Cahul district and municipality. This program will not only amplify the voices of young people but also ensure that the message of civic participation reaches a wider audience, ultimately contributing to a more vibrant and participatory democratic process in Moldova.

The young ambassadors will benefit from free training, a participation certificate, and a set of essential promotional materials for ambassadorial activities.
