European Union values and benefits of integration – promoted in Cahul

The project promoting European Union values and the benefits of integration within the European community has concluded in Cahul.

The final event of the Inotek-Euroconnect project was designed to highlight the achievements and results of the project, promote civic activism, and increase awareness of the importance of participating in the Constitutional Referendum.

Nicolae Dandiș, the mayor of Cahul, also attended the event, delivering a lecture on the importance of the constitutional referendum and elections.

“This is a priority for the whole country, and today it is the most important issue on everyone’s agenda. Beyond the choice we have, it is essential to make an informed decision with a full arsenal of arguments that can serve as the foundation for a decision shaping the future,” said Cahul Mayor Nicolae Dandiș.

Over 90 people participated in the event, including students, pupils, university lecturers, and participants of the project’s competitions, hackathons, and activities.

Some of the project’s main activities include:

  • “The European Union Through the Eyes of Children” competition;
  • The EUvision StoryHack hackathon;
  • Open Mic – Every citizen of Cahul has a voice. Everyone has the right to free expression;
  • The “European Cahul” digital drawing competition;
  • Training sessions on “Referendum Results Depend on Me,” for EU Digital Ambassadors.

The Inotek-Euroconnect project has contributed to raising awareness, civic activism, and information about the opportunities offered by the EU, as well as the core values of the European Union: Human Dignity, Freedom, Democracy, Equality, Rule of Law, Human Rights.
