Full title: AI-Empowered Innovation in Natural Science and Engineering for Circular Economy

Purpose

Strengthening the innovation and entrepreneurial capacity of universities and regional ecosystems by integrating artificial intelligence into research in natural sciences and engineering and applying it to the development of innovative circular economy solutions.

Within the project, the Cahul region is one of the areas where the circular economy ecosystem is being developed and analysed. INOTEK contributes to connecting academia with the local innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and to creating conditions for experimenting with and practically applying artificial intelligence-based solutions.

Objectives

·        integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning tools into research and innovation processes in the circular economy;

·        developing the skills of students, researchers and other ecosystem actors to use AI in research, innovation and the development of sustainable solutions;

·        creating physical and virtual laboratories where participants can experiment with and apply AI tools to address circular economy challenges;

·        identifying and promoting good practices in the use of AI in applied research;

·        mapping regional circular economy ecosystems and identifying opportunities for collaboration among universities, researchers, companies, startups and other relevant actors;

·        stimulating technology transfer and transforming research results into solutions with practical applicability and entrepreneurial potential;

·        developing new ideas, projects and initiatives that contribute to efficient resource use, waste reduction and the transition to a circular economy.

Consortium

The project is implemented by a European consortium bringing together Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), Faculty of Technical Sciences at the University of Novi Sad, Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu State University of Cahul, TUTECH Innovation GmbH, Institute for Artificial Intelligence Research and Development of Serbia, INOTEK Foundation and Cahul Business Incubator.
